Through a series of ongoing exhibitions and a permanent collection, the organization hopes to create a space where visitors understand the role they play in protecting the rights of people throughout the world.

WITNESS is honored to have its work featured in “Collective Freedom,” a permanent installation in the center’s 43,000-square-foot facility.

Established in 2007, the Center opened to the public in late June 2014. The New York Times describes how the center “represents a fresh approach to teaching and applying the lessons of history” by embracing a global perspective on civil and human rights.

A good description of its design and organization can be read at The Burton Wire.
