Sonali Thimmaya, Director of Finance

Sonali leads the finance and accounting team at WITNESS. She is responsible for the financial health, strategic financial planning, financial oversight and financial compliance of the organization. As a member of the Senior Leadership Team, Sonali is co-responsible for and contributes to conceptualizing and operationalizing strategies, plans, and budgets to achieve WITNESS’ mission, vision, and organizational goals. She deeply cares about issues of equity and is passionate about the power of video as a catalyst for change.

Sonali has over 15 years of experience spread across private and nonprofit organizations, ranging in corporate finance, investment banking and financial operational roles. She holds a Masters in Finance from the London Business School and a Bachelors in Management from McGill University. She speaks English and Hindi and has lived in India, Saudi Arabia, the U.A.E, Canada, and the U.K.
