Webcast: The Future of Human Rights Technology

Join us Thursday October 30 as Program Director Sam Gregory participates in a panel discussion at Roosevelt House on advocacy, ethics, and security at the intersection of human rights and technology.

While new technologies can play a critical role in defending human rights, they can also create unforeseen risks for activists and citizen witnesses. Sam and fellow panelists  Iain Levine from Human Rights Watch, and Enrique Piraces from Benetech’s Human Rights Program will dive into issues such as the use of satellite imagery, drones, and video forensics to monitor human rights abuses and increase accountability; the expanding role of citizen witnesses; and the need to keep information secure from certain governments.

The panel is sold out, but you can still tune in at 6pm (ET) for this livestreamed event.

We hope you will join us to hear more about how individuals and NGOs can use technology safely and effectively to advance human rights!
