WITNESS featured in Vimeo’s Video for Good Series
We are extremely excited to announce that we were featured for a second time this year in Vimeo’s Video for Good series. Executive Director Yvette Alberdingk Thijm and Senior Program Manager Priscila Neri spoke about the importance of video as an essential tool in the fight for human rights.
We highlighted our work supporting communities exposing police brutality in Brazil and the role video plays in exposing the truth of people experiencing that systemic violence, a perspective that is often marginalized or denied. Yvette has also shared her insights on the Vimeo blog into the special role creators have in progressing human rights today.
Previously, Vimeo featured our work on Capturing Hate, our project that analyzes eyewitness video to shed light on anti-trans violence in the United States.
Founded in 2004, Vimeo is a video-sharing website in which users can upload, share and view videos. It was the first video sharing site to support high-definition video. We’re grateful to Vimeo for this ongoing collaboration with them to spotlight the work of our partners and the power of video to create change in the world.
