WITNESS in the News: The Intercept

Axon (aka Taser) has a new platform that could turn smartphones into surveillance cameras. That’s not a good thing. They stand to profit from a new platform that would encourage citizens to upload videos of potential crimes, and charging for access.

Dia Kayyali, WITNESS’ Tech + Advocacy Program Manager, chimes in on the potential dangers to users, on what The Intercept calls a “Dropbox for cops.”
