April 1-2: WITNESS Visits The University of Texas
WITNESS is headed to Texas!
On April 1st and 2nd, Engagement Coordinator Jackie Zammuto will be conducting a workshop and participating in a panel at the University of Texas at Austin. Both events are free and open to the public.
On Wednesday April 1st from 6-9PM Jackie will be conducting a workshop titled “From Brazil to Ferguson: Using Video to Support Human Rights Advocacy.” Jackie will cover how organizations and activist groups can strategically incorporate video into their campaign work as well as specific tools and resources for creating advocacy campaigns and documenting police violence. On Thursday April 2nd from 6:30-8:30 PM Jackie will be participating in “Social Media + the Dynamics of Dissent,” a panel hosted by the Department of Eurasian and Slavic Studies. Panelists will discuss the role of social media in recent conflicts and revolutions throughout the world including in Ukraine, Russia, Brazil and the Arab Spring uprisings.
